Pens!

So over the past two weekends, my youngest has kicked me out of my ‘office’ and reclaimed the space as the workshop… The results of those two weeks are shown in the images below!

I’ve been ‘collecting’ pen kits and pen blanks for some time….always need to have something to do for that ‘rainy day’, heaven forbid I’m idle :). He raided my stash, matched blanks with kits and began! Still a handful to go but this is where he’s at. These will be priced and in the store shortly (future Vet fund!)

Have a few pepper mill kits to make as well. Made this one for Tyler for Christmas…

Maple, Walnut and Banksia Pod Pepper Mill

Hard Maple bookends the base, with Walnut and a Banksia pod in the very centre. First time I’ve ever made anything with that…I’m very happy with how it turned out! Very strange material…bumpy on outside…then gets fuzzy….then gets really smooth and cool looking as you turn further.
